August Book Review- Competition Car Composites

Posted by

If you ever want to know what goes into a composite part, or some of the techniques and processes we use to make our own parts, then Competition Car Composites: A Practical Handbook (Revised 2nd Edition) is for you. I realize I can't make every part for every person so don't mind recommending a book about making composite parts. I get asked enough questions by people anyway. I said it before and I'll say it again, "An educated customer is a good customer." Now we do go way beyond the processes used in this book, but it is a great intro to composites. I read the first edition a while ago and this book is what really kick started me to start tinkering with composites. It starts with the basics of the materials themselves, gets into some tools needed, starts with a simple flat panel, then gets to making patterns and molds and ultimately how to make a part. Theres several composite related books on the market but this is by far the best one aimed specifically towards racing. The Revised Second Edition isn't that old so can be had at a very reasonable price still.
